0.1.7 xbmc os x how to replace 0.16?

i just noticed theres a new xbmc version out. how do i replace my pevious version? i know i have to save my skins, which is not a problem, but should i just drag the icon into apps as i did last time and it will overwrite everything from the previous release automatically? will this over write my settings and movie/msuic library info, posters, etc?
i deifnitely dont want to go trhoguh all the customization, and the library configuration all over again. please let me know waht the proper way is.

Drag the new version on top of the old version. The only thing that will be written over is your skins, all other settings are saved in your home folder, ~/Library/Application Support/xbmc to be exact.
