Consecutive file problem in library mode
#1
Hi everybody

I have been reading along for a couple of months and have now decided to try it out .

I have been using front row but this is not good because I have a touch screen and I Front Row does not support mouse.

Anyways almost all of my music is encoded in apple lossless.

Everything works great in "File" mode but none of my lossless files can be played in "Library" mode and I get the "Too many consecutive files" message.

I have looked in the forums and in the manual and found no answer.

As far as I can see the log says something about unsupported file...

Can anybody help me?

Here is my log:

Thanks for a great program.

have you tried creating a smaller library with 20-30 songs and running in library mode? If this works keep adding in files 100 (or 1000 at a time) until you run into the error again.

Looking at the logs again (and I know little about the logs) it seems there is one file that is tripping the whole process up. Try my suggestion of starting small then adding as you go to find which file is causing problems. Now this could be 2962.m4a or that could be what the library is using to reference that file...

Code:
10:43:30 T:2686709664 M:494092288   ERROR: AACCodec: Unable to open file musicdb://3/248/2962.m4a (Unsupported Audio track type.)
10:43:30 T:2686709664 M:494092288   ERROR: CAudioDecoder: Unable to Init Codec while loading file musicdb://3/248/2962.m4a
10:43:30 T:2686709664 M:494800896   ERROR: Playlist Player: skipping unplayable item: 0, path [musicdb://3/248/2962.m4a]

Good eyes! Something is wrong with that file. I've heard rumors of updates to libfaad, this may help.

Hi

Tried another song with the same result:

http://www.pastebin.com/m7c853e55

I also tried removing the sources and updating the library but all my songs are still there? Cleaning the database results in an "Error compressing database".

Is there another way I can reset my Library?

Sorry for all the questions but I seem to be stuckHuh

Just delete ~/Library/Application Support/XBMC
Copy a small number of your files to a new folder and add that as a source. See if it runs then. The Pastebin URL you provided above is invalid BTW.

I got sample files from him, I can confirm this is a bug. Even files I convert in iTunes to Lossless throw up the same error, but only in library mode. File mode proceeds to play them fine. Trac is down for the moment, I will fill out a bug report and upload a sample later and post the ticket number here.

Thanks for helping me out - or at least show that it was not my setup but a general problem Smile
