Wow! What a difference! I have XBMC on Linux on two machines.

One with Intrepid + 2.6GHz P4 + GeForce FX 5200 + 1,8GB RAM
One with Jaunty + 2.2GHz Dual Core + GeForce 7200 GS + 2GB RAM

The slower one had lots of problems with sound being out of sync and for example if I played media via XOT framework it was just silly, the sound was off by maybe 1 second for every second played.

The faster one has never showed any problems.

When I added "TripleBuffer = true" the slower system started to act all normal Smile

After having TripleBuffer=true for a while I notice that pretty much all my video quality problems are gone.

Before I had "lagging" display of full quality DVDs, 1.4GB XviD-files and I could definitely not play 720p material, it was playing with like 5-10fps.

Now I can play DVD & XviD without any lagging at all and the 720p material I have tested so far has gone OK. Watching a 20min TV-episode I get maybe 150-200 dropped frames (can't really notice it).

This is with the 2.6GHz P4 with GeForce FX 5200.
