ubuntu 16.04LTS, running headless connected to my TV, with a more or less full X installation. Kodi set to autorun on startup.
Remote was working fine until yesterday. It's an MCE remote with a USB dongle IR receiver. I tried dpkg-reconfigure on LIRC and used the settings that worked before, no go.
mode2 is seeing the key presses (this is up and down a couple of times):
But kodi is not registering the key strokes. I would love to give a log with debug enabled but if plug in a keyboard and enable debug logging and then restart lightdm it appears that debug is switch off again...
If there's nothing I can do I guess I can rebuild it
