How to update on original firestick

Hi, new here, wasn't sure where to post.
My son has the original Amazon firestick and we can't seem to find info on updating kodi on it, only the new one.
Could anyone advise or direct me to a post or video dealing with it please?

Same as he installed Kodi to begin with, download and sideload.
