Hello,
I have a HDA VIA VT82xx card with 6 channels analog output working correctly with mplayer (-channels 6) but when I play some AC3 movie with xbmc (PPA repositories for ubuntu gutsy) only frontal speakers works in stereo.
Some cue?

Do you have any ALSA config in /etc/asound.conf or ~/.asoundrc?
If so then try moving them away and restarting alsa (/etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart). |

Not, I have not any of these files...
I only have /etc/asound.state but I suppose this is needed. I compiled by my self the alsa libraries, I don't know if this helps... My version is: alsa-driver-hg20071111 alsa-lib-hg20071106 alsa-utils-hg20071106 |
