[REQUEST] Channel4 Catchup - 4oD (Channel 4 on Demand) Plugin?

Hello, and thanks for a great addon. Would it be possible to add a proxy server page similar to the one used on the Iplayer addon ?
This would be a great help and allow me to connect my ATV2 in the bedroom to the PC (using CCproxy) in the living room that is connected to the UK via a VPN.

Hi i would love to use both plugins (channel 4 and 5) but they dont work..

im running openelec (Stable 1.0.2 - Fusion), the plugins install fine from the repository but no stream works. there isnt even an error message or something.
i read in the thread that the latest version of rtmpdump is requiered could this be the problem? i dont think i can easily update this on openelec.

Other Plugins like BBC iPlayer or ITV work fine...

Have another issue on my other machine now, it will play fine for about 2 minutes then stop, this is a acer revo currently running beta 2. Main system doesnt do the same thing, it plays fine apart from the failed to play problem. This one is running beta 3

rtmpdump or rtmpdump -h should tell you the version, version 2.4 has the fix, later versions of 2.3 had a workaround. From what I can see the version is from around 23 July, that should be version 2.4, which was released 11 July.

The xbmc.log of your failed attempt would help to determine if rtmpdump is failing, for this reason. You should see in the xbmc.log rtmpdump start then fail on the handshake with the server. There are other reason for failures. If using 4odplayer-11.8.5.swf for example. See issue 2 here.. http://code.google.com/p/nibor-xbmc-repo/issues/list - that only is for channel 4, channel 5 shouldn't fail, unless the plugin is out of date. The if the xbmc.log doesn't contain the rtmpdump parameters, then there might be an issue in the plugin install, setup, the path to rtmpdump should have been set if required, and a folder to store downloads, for each plugin.

If there is a problem with the version of rtmpdump for openelec then you need to register the issue with openelec, that may take some time, but should get openelec updated.

rtmpdump supports SOCKS4 with a --socks parameter, and from what I read CCProxy supports socks4, so yes it should be possible. Go to here and raise an issue - enhancement request.

The xbmc.log might give a clue, if there is a 4odplayer-11.8.5.swf, then that is wrong, it should be 4odplayer- 11.21.2.swf. You need to change the plugin. See issue 2 here....

Attached to the issue are updates..

If the xbmc.log shows a line with rtmpe://ak.securestream.channel4.com or rtmpe://ll.securestream.channel4.com, the issue is either with the parameters supplied such as the swf file url, or rtmpdump is failing for some reason, those errors/warnings should be in the xbmc.log.

I installed the addon from zip file on XBMC yet I cant find in my Video Addons in my videos menu.

Hi there. I am having problem getting the 4OD and 5OD add ons to work. I have read through the thread but am a pretty basic user. I am running Win 7 with xbmc 11.0. I have downloaded rtmpdump and pointed 4OD at the file rtmpdump.exe but whenever I run the add on it just says script failed.
