MP4 movies play "zaggie" lines

This happens with several mp4 movies. Hitting "i" while the movie is playing tells me that the video is h264, yuv420p, 720x368.
I am guessing there will be no error report since the player seems to think everything is OK. Is there any other info I can give about this problem?

Hi, I have the same problem.
But after making a new account and opening osxbmc there is no problem, the mp4 plays perfect, but after playing with the interlaced handling settings this phenomenon showes up, and will not disappear anymore
I hope somebody can help.
Thanks
Paul

This is more or less a known issue with h264/mp4 when using VobSub subtitles (evident in your first screenshot). Try re-encoding the video to include "burnt-in" subtitles or use something like SubRip to convert them to text-based SRT. More info at: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=32346

I found that the particular issue is mp4/h264 with an idx and sub file. (VobSub subtitles?) When removing the idx and sub file from the movie directory the video plays perfectly. Putting the idx and sub file back yields the same garbled video.

I will see about converting the subs.
