24, 50, 60 Hz playback in Linux?
#1
I have searched the forums for an answer for my question but haven't found any info about how this works in the Linux version.

If you have a TV that can handle 24,50 and 60Hz input at 1080p how does xbmc in Linux handle this?
Does it detect the fps of the movie and set the correct refresh rate on the monitor automatically?
Or does it do any 3:2 pulldown technique?
Or doesn't it do anything so that you have to change the refresh rate output manually depending on what you play?

I run 64-bit Linux so I haven't been able to test xbmc on Linux yet...

I'm also interested in automatic or manual change of refresh rate in XBMC, but I don't think this is implemented yet. I think that currently it uses your refresh rate outside XBMC and you have to change it manually there as well. Kinda sucks when switching 24/25 fps sources Wink

Yeah, having a projector that can handle 24fps without pulldown, I too would love to see this Smile

I mean I'd like to know if it's possible. I know that feature requests aren't being accepted yet.
