v18 Windows Insider Preview Build not showing LIve TV on Leia nightly build
#1
I originally piggy-backed this issue on another thread.  Sub tried to help me but could not find any evidence in the logs that I had uploaded.  Posting here with more detail, hoping someone has a similar testing environment.

The issue:  Live TV using NPVR on another host in the my network appears to work, but the window displaying the TV show does not get created (or at least is not displayed).  The id of the show is displayed in the top-right corner of the Kodi screen, but the display window never opens.  I am running Leia nightlies successfully on other Windows 10 machines in my network.  These machines are not running Windows Insider Preview builds.  In all probability this is a Windows compatibility issue, but I am trying to eliminate all of the possibilities.

I had originally uploaded log files here:   http://paste.ubuntu.com/26188362 .  Both the Leia nightly build and the Windows build have changed since those logs were created, but the problem remains the same.  My test environment:

Windows 10 Insider Preview:  Build 17074.rs_prerelease_flt.180116-1539
Leia nightly build:  "KodiSetup-20180121-6b3552ed-master-x64.exe"
Nextpvr Version 4.0.5 (running on another network machine)

If anyone has any insight on this problem, or additional ideas for de-bugging, please respond to this thread.

Since you are using NextPVR on a different machine you should not be using HTPC-WIN10-64 as the NextPVR hostname since the Kodi log show that is the Kodi machine

Thanks for looking, Martin.  You are correct.  However changing that did not seem to change any of the symptoms reported earlier.  Actually, I think I included the Ubuntu link to the wrong log file.  The Kodi execution should have been taking place on a Surface book with the ID "SB-WIN10-64".  I'll get the new link up later today.

Well, I'm having a heck of a time using the Log Uploader with Leia.  I set the uploader to load the old log (prior execution) and it proceeds to upload the current log.  Maybe it's a user error.  I dunno.

I know that no one on here wants to look at log extracts, but I don't know how else to upload a log.  Compare the two log entries highlighted in orange.

Here's an extract from the Leia log:

I'm not really sure what was wrong, or what was fixed, but Leia is now working.  I have been running the devlopment builds in portable mode, so I deleted the portable_data folder and let the restart re-create it.  Voila!  Live TV worked.  I then copied my userdata folder from the old portable_data folder to the new and it still works.

Something perhaps got screwed up at some point along the line.  I'm wondering if maybe I copied the whole portable_data folder from a Krypton installation, and maybe that caused the problem.

Thanks to everyone who looked at this thread, and to those that tried to help.  I love the forum, and I love the Kodi development team.  keep up the great work.
