Hello,

the Imon dll from newer Software is 52 kb and from this package is only 24 kb.
I think the support for us case is not included.

Thats the problem. Soundgraph changes something. Same problem in many other software like lcdsmartie and so on. The api on the soundgraph homepage is the old one. So nobody can change the dll for the new displays.

Baby steps ... baby steps ...

I've also got the iMon with my Bach Media case ... I do at times still <shudder> remembering how much {fun} it was to get the display to work properly.

Still haven't a clue what I did to make it happen either, so it'd be "interesting" to do it again if I managed to break it.

*Never did get the spectrum display to work, but I'm right happy having it scroll title. author, etc and it's the best $200 digital clock/night light in the house ... <G>

Hi Mrz

following the links to 2 files with functional code and demo for the Futaba Display. (Scaleo E, Elonex Artisan and many othes cases)

http://www.grsnet.net/Scaleo_VFD_source.zip
http://www.grsnet.net/VFDControl.zip

Here more Infos for the Display and the Buttons:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Futaba

It would be great if xbmc windows would be able to drive a vfd display and
use the control buttons (play, stop, ffw, fbw, etc) located on the front of many cases.

Is this info of any use ?

Cheers,
Konstantin

Windows 7 Build 7600, XBMC Rev22072, PM3.HD 1680x1050 @ 59.94Hz (Full Screen)

Hardware:
Motherboard: Asus P5E-VM HDMI with onboard NVIDIA GeForce 9300/nForce 730i, NVIDIA Driver 186.35, CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 2*3,00 GHz, RAM 2,00 GB
Case: Antec Fusion Micro with integrated iMON VFD
Its a HTPC, only driver and XBMC is installed.

Have anyone experience with Windows 7 and show XBMC information on an iMON VFD??

The iMON VFD works fine under Windows but for me is more important to show some XBMC information.

I know that are many threads to this topic in the forum available, but most of the threads are very old so some links don't work or have solution for Windows XP or very old XBMC Versions.

So after search the complete weekend for information to XBMC and the iMON VFD is this thread my last hope to get some information.

Thanks
Regards Zippolighter

The Windows port of XBMC doesn't have any handling of VFDs right now. But you might want to get a program called LCDSmartie. It supports iMON displays but I can't guarantee it will work on your specific display.

http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net/

I wrote a XBMC plugin for LCDSmartie that you can find in the developer forum. It's pretty basic, but it will output the show name, current time/total time. It works on videos, audio, and picture playback.

Hey, I started a thread a while ago and got no replies. I found this thread and I think it relates to what Im trying to do.

I have a Moncaso 932 case with a &" LCD in the front. I am also running IMon software. I wrote up a nice tutorial on getting IMon remotes to work on Windows. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=55060

Now Im trying to get my front display which normal works with the IMon media center to work with XBMC. Here is a little sample of what it looks like. You can also view news headlines and cpu temp.

Am I in the right place?

Sorry for bumping an old thread

Getting the imon lcd to work in windows would complete my HTPC trifecta and would make me a happy panda!

I found this work that some guy did on the imon api. I know it has probably allready been found/discussed/lost/refound/buried in a hole/ and found again, but just throwing it out there in the off chance it can help someone in the future bring XBMC info to the imon.

Anyhoo, heres the link:

I also have an Antec/imon running win7 and messed with the few lcd hacks/api's out there and never really got anywhere. It's been a while, but I believe the lcdsmartie can be made to work, but it required disabling the IR reciever! Huh
