You shouldn't need to change any scripts. Just copy all files to your harddrive and run syslinux. What's important is that you get the hidden folder .disk over, as thats the one that tell the script that this is where xbmc is.

I just ended up installing a new kernel with another initrd, and i have extracted all the .img files to a ext3 partition.. works a treat.. now to sort out why it uses 100% CPU when XBMC is focused, and also to get my laptop 'extra keys' to work with it Smile

The usb drive seems to boot up and I get the XBMC initial screen but then it goes blank and I have a single underscore in the top left corner. I have tried no xorg.conf file and two different xorg.conf files but still the same result. Any clues?

Let me guess, Intel Video Chipset? G35 maybe? Intel Video Drivers suck in the Hardy release, here's to hoping Intrepid is better.

Omaura TF8 | Asus P5E-VM HDMI | E8400 | MCE Remote | DH-4O1S-11 BD-ROM, For no good reason!

Sorry about not including system details, I was hoping someone experienced the described symptoms. The system is a dual nvidia 8600gt (512mb each), dual core athlon on a Winfast NF4SK8AA socket 939 with nvidia chipset (award bios) MB with 2gb DDR-400 memory system. If you need anything else, I will probably need to get power restored to my house (hurricane ike remants). I am responding on my palm centro.

I suggest you just wait until Beta 1 of "XBMC Live" is out, should be any day now, (we are already behind schedule).

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
