Crash on startup: userdata path problem
#1
I just updated to build 12859, and it's crashing on startup. The relevant part of xbmc.log seems to be "ERROR: Unable to load /home/xbmc/XBMC/BUILD/userdata//guisettings.xml" -- note the two slashes in the path there.

The system was working fine on build 12410 or thereabouts -- is 12859 just borked, or do I need to update something somewhere. I do have XBMC_HOME defined, but that seems immaterial anyways since the problematic part of the path is appended after that.

Thanks!

I am only new here, so I expect there will be a better answer, but what I would do would be boot up holding in both sticks, so it asks if you want to reset all userdata. This will set xbmc back to default settings, so only do it if you do not mind setting up the weather etc again.

How do I edit a post I have already made? This is for Linux not Xbox, doh. Sorry about that previous post Aiken.

Hi, ADAxbMc -- welcome to the forums. No worries!

For the record, renaming ./UserData to ./userdata fixed the problem. The spurious two-slash problem was a red herring.
