Support for streaming .MKV files.

As the title suggests, I would kill for support for 720p .mkv support. This would make XBMC complete for me... Though I don't know if the XBOX has the power to decode the media. What do you guys think of this idea?

Woops! Just found the answer to my own question.
"With its 733 MHz Intel Pentium III-like CPU and 64MB shared memory, the Xbox has neither a fast enough CPU nor sufficient amounts of RAM to play 720p/1080i resolution HDTV video. However, XBMC can up-convert all standard definition movies and output them at 720p or 1080i with better quality than most (if not all) HDTVs' native up-convert functions."(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_media_...eo_Library)

I was going to say - mkv is just the container the movie's in, not a specific encoding of a video. Personally, I use xvid/ogg to encode my movies (don't own an hdtv yet Sad ), and throw them into an mkv.

I seem to remember the xbox can play certain 720-encoded files, but if HD is the way you want to go, I'd look at the Linux, MacOS, or Windows projects.
