Solved Kodi Icon Disappears from Windows Taskbar
#1
I'm using Windows 8.1 and latest stable version of Kodi. The Kodi icon disappears from the taskbar shortly after opening Kodi.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file.

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Always use a paste site like pastebin.com. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Did I not create or post my log correctly?

Yep, log is created and posted correctly.

I am just struggling to understand the significance of your problem. Can you still watch Kodi, even though it disappears?

Should be some facility to drag or pin the Kodi icon onto the taskbar. Migrate to the kodi.exe make a shortcut on the desktop and drag that to the tool bar.

Your pastebin is coming up dry.  Always use a paste site like pastebin.com

I can still use Kodi and pin it to the taskbar, but pinning doesn't restore Windows' 'hover preview' function.

Using Kodi v18 64-bit has resolved this issue for me.
