I seem to remember there was a script/program under vista and 7 that did this, as it suppressed MCE and opened XBMC,
Look on the internet for XBMC startup script?, it might still work for 10...

Ok so I got windows 10 and mce opening kodi now, but my new problem is when kodi opens I have to use the keyboard to click on the background so that the remote works. Any idea on how to stop this from happening?
Thanks.

FWIW, I connect via a FLIRC. I use that to map the green button to Windows-2 (Kodi is the second application pinned to the taskbar). I've tried a number of methods over the years but this has proved the most reliable and it gives Kodi the focus so I don't need a keyboard click.

I have searched for this as well. Choose to map the green button to go to start and use the cursor keys from there to start Kodi
