This is extremely cool, but I'm having problems getting it to read Yahoo Pipes. I get a "Could not connect to network server" error. Other RSS feeds can be loaded successfully. These are some pipes I've made:

rss://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=Nr_33jX83BGqyaSnJphxuA&_render=rss

rss://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=fa2e9af6aa51dbb3cc0f0a9b5391d3c1&_render=rss

rss://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=4IscVBZ_3RGu2qQmpwt1Yg&_render=rss

I'm running Xbox rev 16762 and 17820. Both versions also give me the same "date sorting" problems mentioned above.

Well, I just discovered this feature and I am rather impressed with its flexibility. Anyways I do have a couple of questions/recommendations with regards to the way RSS sources are handled by XBMC.

First, is there a way to group RSS sources with an assigned content type (aka Internet Television, Audio Podcasts, etc.)? For example, I have some Revision3 RSS feed sources such as Diggnation HD, Systm HD, and Tekzilla HD, which I would consider Internet TV shows. Due to the fact that these streams are Internet TV shows I feel it would be logical for them to be displayed in a comprehensive grouping just like regulare TV shows are in library mode. Is this possible? If not, I would like to recommend it as a feature; that way the content can be aggregated together and organized just as our movie and television shows are in library view. This would make navigating and browsing Internet based content much easer.

this links too long and have some symbols. You can use http://tinyurl.com/ or other similar services.

Tinyurl doesn't work because it creates an http forward to the rss feed. So, typing in the correct url (http://tinyurl....) gives an error, since it can't read it, and typing it in as an rss feed (rss://tinyurl...) gives an error because it isn't really an rss feed. Pipes would be nice, since then you could pass hulu through it, and get around their stupid hangups.
Oh yeah, and create personalized feeds from the internet..

Other than that, I was wondering if there is any way to add a feed directly to the plugins directory, instead of trying to scrape it. After all, the Apple Keynotes feed listed earlier would go well with my repository of internet video under plugins, but it doesn't fit well in my movie library..

yes but some yahoo pipes are working with tinyurl forward some of them aren't working. I can't figure it out why Smile

Anyone know why M4V files are no longer working in the RSS reader with the 9.04 Beta 1 Babylon?

I used to be able to watch the CNET Car Tech HD video podcast (which are in M4V) before Babylon but not anymore.

No longer working means no items or not playable? In any case a full debug log is needed.

paqmaster Wrote:How do you sort these RSS feeds by date? When I try to sort by date all the posts have the date "12/31/1969" as the date. It does this for all the RSS video/audio podcasts I've tried. The XBMC RSS reader doesn't seem to read the post date from the RSS feed at all. Is there something special I have to do to get the RSS reader to read the date from each post?

I am having this problem with a feed. I am using an xbox. 9.04

http://audio.todayfm.com/podcasting.xml

It does not pick up the pubdate. Can anybody see something wrong with this feed ?

Thanks

I guess it would help if I was more clear Big Grin

Item listing is fine. The strange thing is the first time I try to play the video podcast it works fine, but once I stop/finish and try to play another one from the same list or any other video podcasts I get nothing and stays like that and eventually I get a too many items in queue error message after a while.

Debug log here:

Not sure what the problem was but this issue is resolved in build Rev 20074.

Everything works great in this build.

If I add RSS feed like ted talks, what content should I configure in order to add it to library mode?
