I just got myself a PS3 BD remote and I have to say, this is a great remote, the tutorial was fairly simple to follow and the remote works great.

thank you for putting togheter this tutorial.

I will have a look at the most recent config file that was uploaded, but I took the one from page 5 (or near page 5) and I added subtitle toggle on the subtitle button and subtitle cycle to the angle button.

pretty easy to add new keys, and the yellow button that do the alt-tab in win7 is great!

only concern is when I alt-tab out of xbmc and come back, the bluetooth remote stops working in xbmc, anybody else having this problem? the remote still respond (I see events in eventghost) and if I exit xbmc and launch it again the remote works .

update:

after 10days. remote stops working.

figured the battery might have died already. (this is a known problem with ps3 bluetooth remotes since the bluetooth is on all the time).

opened eventghost to check if my keypress still registers.
alas, they still do but the codes changed. the last two digits of the command changed from 05 to 04. figured the last two digits send battery status signals.

to those using the same remote. you have two options.
change batteries or download my updated xml file. Smile

i also modified some of they keys a bit from my last upload and also tweaked the xml file of xbmc to correspond to these changes.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/nkddjmn5hj...ostPS3.xml

link2 - xbmc keyboard.xml file
http://www.mediafire.com/file/jyzyfbw4zzn/keyboard.xml
place this in the following directory
windows7: C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\keymaps
windowsxp: C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\XBMC\userdata\keymaps
portable: \\xbmc\system\keymaps\ (overwrite default keyboard.xml)

will update as soon as something comes up again...

Here is the setup that I use. I have the older 3.6 version of Eventghost (with the plugin that sends sleep/hibernate events, however im unsure how well it works as i have only been using it for the last few days)
Here's EventGhost:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/mtcgmhyizy..._Setup.exe
The following configuration uses enduring events for buttons and uses the remote key as the event name (So the battery level changing wont effect the use of the remote) and i have set up repeat events for the directional buttons (So that you can hold the directional pad down to scroll through items)
I have set the Playstation button to run XBMC by using a CTRL+ALT+X shortcut (You will have to configure this in your xbmc shortcut properties)
Here's the XML

thanks for the update.
the xml file dont work with the recent build of eventghost though.
plus i prefer direct commands rather than keyboard emulation thus even without the keyboard.xml file of xbmc, remote will still work flawlessly. Big Grin

i have a question though.
how do you set repeating events if i keep the button pressed?
i dont mind the shorter battery life since i use rechargeable batteries for that matter.

thanks...

Yeah, thats why i posted the older version of EventGhost Big Grin

To set repeating events for the button being pressed, click on add action then open the EventGhost tree and select autorepeat current macro

You're going to need to set events for 5 through to 1 due to the battery level dropping Big Grin

Update: Have just discovered that the HID.Hibernate doesnt seem to work in windows 7 but works fine in XP (Havent tested in vista though)
Sucks. I have heard that someone is working on the PS3 plugin, but low power mode is low on their list of priorities

Hey Guys, I've been looking through all of you config files and eventually came up with my own, I decided to use the older version of EventGhost (0.3.6.1487) which you can download at:
SkItZo Wrote:EventGhost 0.3.6.1487: http://www.mediafire.com/file/mtcgmhyizy..._Setup.exe

I choose this version because it uses a plugin that has the button names instead of the codes (making the changes in the battery level irrelevant).
I also used the XBMC plugin to send XBMCC commands instead of simulated keyboard presses.

I did add a few missing commandsto the XBMC plugin in eventghost because some commands were not included in it. To add those commands simply open the file __init__.py (in c:\Program Files\EventGhost\plugins\XBMC\) (or wherever your eventghost is installed) with a text editor, search for "ACTIONS = (" and add this at the bottom of that section:
Code:
("AudioNextLanguage", "Next Audio Track", "Next Audio Track.", "AudioNextLanguage"),
("NextSubtitle", "Cycle Subtitle", "Cycle Subtitle.", "NextSubtitle"),
("ToggleWatched", "Toggles Watched", "Toggles Watched.", "ToggleWatched"),
("SubtitleDelayMinus", "Decrease Subtitle Delay", "Decrease Subtitle Delay.", "SubtitleDelayMinus"),
("SubtitleDelayPlus", "Increase Subtitle Delay", "Increase Subtitle Delay.", "SubtitleDelayPlus"),

I mapped pretty much every button on the remote (tried to give the right functionality based on the button name).

Here is the file The_Dogg PS3 Config.xml (Right-Click, Save As)

Here is a list of the buttons and their function( AutoRepeat means you can hold the button and the action repeat until you let go):

Button - Function
Eject - Shutdown Menu
Audio - Next Audio Track
Angle - Toggle Fullscreen/GUI
Subtitle - Subtitle On/Off
Clear - Cycle Subtitle
Time - Show Time Remaining

4 - 4
5 - 5
6 - 6

Square (View) - Toggle Aspect Ratio
X - Add to Queue
Up - Up (AutoRepeat)
Down - Down (AutoRepeat)
Left - Left (AutoRepeat)
Right - Right (AutoRepeat)
Enter - Enter
L1 - Show the information
L2 - Toggles watched/unwatched
L3 - Screenshot
Playstation Button - Launch XBMC
R1 - Volume Up (AutoRepeat)
R2 - Volume Down (AutoRepeat)
R3 - Mute
Select - Decrease Subtitle Delay (AutoRepeat)
Start - Increase Subtitle Delay (AutoRepeat)

Scan >> - Fast Forward
Prev - Small Step Back (1%)
Next - Small Step Forward (1%)
Slow/Step < - Big Step Back (10%)
