How to play video stream with wsx media file extention?

yes, i tried the same - created a strm file and put my .wsx url in it.
it failed to work
but the same url worked when used within a plugin.
not sure why strm fails

i have the same problem with asx files
i wish could see the following in XBMC:
http://ondacadiz.en-directo.com/OndaCadiz.asx but fails

i downloaded the files and inside of another asx was the following:

guys, I'm trying to get the BP oil leak livestream to play in my XBMC (as a substitute for an aquarium I guess...)

asx source file: http://mfile.akamai.com/97892/live/reflector:46245.asx

raw stream address according to the .asx file:

mms://a246.l9789246245.c97892.g.lm.akamaistream.net/D/246/97892/v0001/reflector:46245

I tried to copy this mms stream into a .strm file and play it with XBMC but it won't play

Anyone found any way of playing streams with .wsx extension.?
