I'd been wondering why I couldn't properly switch to a new version of XBMC after updating and discovered the script was putting files in the /e/ directory rather than /e/dash. Is there a way to either make the xbox boot from /e/ first or change the script

the shortcut xbe or xbmc's xbe ?
secondly what does your bios boot order look like?

ok, look in the t3ch updater thread, there is an explanation of how to add a subfolder to the path. can't remember exactly but either you put the folder togheter with the shortcutname eg: dash\shortcutname.xbe or if it was the drive portion eg: e:\dash\
