8.04: lirc broken?

An upgrade has killed lirc on my box Sad

Ubuntu forums are really the first place to get help with Ubuntu related problems like this.
Howto post your problem in a useful manner. #xbmc-linux on FreeNode
XBMC online-manual, FAQ, search, forum rules, how to submit a bugreport.

I don't recall any lirc updates since I moved to 8.04 - lirc is working fine here.
