I just re-read my post, and wanted to make it clear that it was a joke, and that I identify myself as a geek/hacker.

I was pointing out how difficult it is to earn the "respect" (in all it's manifestations) of a beautiful woman by telling them that you are a computer geek

Especially at a convention of computer geeks.
