Color depth reduced after upgrade to Ubuntu 19.04?
#1
My HTPC runs Ubuntu, and the primary use is for Kodi.  When I was running Ubuntu 18.10, my projector would say that it was receiving 12-bit color in 4:4:4 subsampling.  After upgrading to 19.04, it only shows 8-bit.  This was both at the desktop and in Kodi during playback.

I'm using a Ryzen 2400G with it's built-in graphics.  Both installs were out of the box, no third party video drivers.

Any idea what could have changed, or how I could get back to 12-bit?  I know it's not really beneficial for Blu-Ray, but I do like the support for 10-bit and higher when using other sources.

It's even not beneficial at all for 10 bit content as kodi opens 8 bit visuals. After that the driver updithers it.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
