Chinese Subs showing up in unicode
#1
Anyone know to get chinese subs to work? When I download them from what seems like any source I find them from they always show up in squares or in unicode, depending on which option I choose in the subtitles menu under videos.
Anyone got any ideas?

Use a unicode font, such as arialuni.ttf, available with windows.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I tried installing the font in on my mac mini, and also putting it inside media/fonts directory inside the xbmc app contents, then selecting the font under the settings video subtitle menu, and tried choosing default, and all the chinese variations, but I still get all gibberish or boxes, except for an occasional chinese character.
I'm not 100% sure I'm downloading the right version of the .srt file....but I've tried the various versions and they don't seem to work.. Any other hints?
Thanks again,
-Dan
