Remembering credentials across Samba shares to same IP?
#1
I have a number of different shares on one PC, which has a long password that is painful to type out on a remote control for setup. Is there any way to have Kodi remember the credentials for a specified IP, such that I can either browse and add multiple shares, or at least not have to type in the username/password combo for another Samba entry at the same IP?

In the "Browse for new share" dialog box, click "Add network location" and enter server name, username, and password. After clicking OK, the server will show up in the "Browse for new share" dialog. Click on it, and you can browse the list of shares to add your sources.

NB: Kodi saves passwords in plaintext in config files such as mediasources.xml and passwords.xml. If security is a concern, you might want to create accounts specifically to share these folders to Kodi instead of using your primary account.
