Solved Advancedsettings.xml - Leia 18.7.2000 freezes on splash screen.
#1
I have just successfully upgraded my 2 android boxes from 15.2 Isenagrd to Leia 18.7.2000 (complete rebuild / new install) and everything works great. However, as soon as I copy a simple Advancedsettings.xml file (with correct IP Address to Synology NAS) into the Userdata folder, Kodi does not start up – it just freezes on the splash screen. I am using MariaDB (v5.5.52)  to allow me to start a movie in one room and finish in another. This worked perfectly on 15.2 Isenagrd. Any help / suggestions are greatly appreciated?

Without a debug log (wiki) to confirm or deny it, my guess right now would be that your MariaDB version is too old.

That is already a quite old version by now. An error-free experience cannot be guaranteed.
MariaDB is at version 10.4 stable if I'm correct.

Hi All, many thanks for your replies.

I will update the DB over the weekend and post my update.

I have to put up my hand and accept my “Schoolboy error”.

Having taken a longer look at my Advancedsettings.xml file, I realised that I had as missing ”.”  in the IP address of the NAS.

Once I corrected my error - everything worked as expected.

All working now.
