X10 Medion RF Remote Control (P/N 20017670)
#76
Freebyrd Wrote:I downloaded the latest drivers for the firefly remote from their site.

does the same thing in windowed mode

Tried it out of focus and the up down left right ok button exit or menu buttons didn't work then I hit pause and it seemed to work as it changed menus when I hit the button.

I think you already modified your "Keymap.xml". Be sure to use the original one.
Anyway if it's not the problem, I don't where is the problem.

Hi Dav,

I have a medion rf remote receiver P/N 20016397
I can't seem to get this X10MBC thing installed Sad

What i did was: install the v6dllstuff at system32
And then i tried running the X10 app (tried all versions btw) and this error appeared:

"Le composant 'x10net.dll' ou une de ses dépendances n'est pas correctement enregistré: un fichier est absent ou incorrect"

Then i tried save the file on desktop and running from there, but same errorSad
Then i tried putting this file in system32, which ofcourse didnt help either Big Grin
Then i tried saving your x10dll alone (you posted a link on this forum) and put in system32

NOTHING worked Sad

what should i do?

my OS: vista ultimate 64bit
trying to use this on a ASUS G1s

if you need more info, letme know

Thx man

Hello Simonov,

Your "x10net.dll" is not registered !
You have to register your x10net.dll first (in Administrator Mod)

1) Open a cmd prompt (dos command window)
2) paste this line : c:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\x10net.dll

If success then you can use it ;-)

Thanks for you help dav, but it doesnt work either: the error in the cmd is as follows:
"the module "c:\windows\system32\blabla" failed to load.
make sure the binary is tored at the specific path or debug it for specific problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files"

I rechecked the path and the x10.dll (is it the correct one?) is stll at the right place Sad

Simonov,

Are you sure you have Administrator Access to register your library ?
You need to be logged as admin but you have to run this command as admin too.

You'r from Aalst ?

Yes it might be easier for you, but the solution must be visible for all ;-)

1) be sure x10net.dll is in : "C:\Windows\System32"
2) go to "C:\Windows\System32"
3) find cmd.exe
4) right click
5) choose "Run as administrator" (or something like this, sorry mine is in french)
6) paste : c:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\x10net.dll
7) press enter

I leave in Erembodegem ;-)

My X10Net.DLL : 1,22 Mo (1.286.144 octets)
Did you verified that your DLL have the correct version (see previous page's) ?
Anyway, the problem still the same, you can't register your DLL Confused

Application I made for this remote.
Successfully tested on XP Pro Sp2
Must work on Vista (need feedback)

What is supported :
- Start / Shutdown (Quit) XBMC PC
- Play, Stop, Pause
- Left, Right, Up, Down
- Volume Up / Down
- Jump Forward / Jump Back
- FF / RW
- Shutdown PC
- Screenshots (New)
- Program minimized to systray (New)
- Successfully tested on XP Pro SP2

Be sure Windows Media Center is not running (Must be killed in Task Manager)!!
You don't need to change anything in Keymap.xml
Use setup to install the program & enjoy using your X10 Medion Remote.

Download here

Gimme some feedback ;-)

Dav.

It works fine even with my Image

now I have 1 problem: how do I remove:
shutdown
minimize
screenshots

as that should be a FULL XBMC pc with no interaction from "standard" users.

hem
there are some issues with the buttons, for example the shutdown is the one with the EPG Smile

is quite funny but confusing.

can you put the button configuration in a file that we can edit?

Mf

edit: I've checekd all buttons are different from my remote apart from numbers... very funny.
How can I fix it ?

I have the same problem. If i only run X10-BMC I cant navigate with the up / down / right / left d-pad thing. If I run the ati software also those buttons work but the Ok / enter button presses twice or something.
