Can PicLens be implemented into XBMC?With all the news, videos and pictures it would be a great addition. My first thought was the Ram and processor couldn't handle running it.But I am no expert so I thought I would suggest it and see where it goes.

Thanks.

Question
PicLens? Can you please be (much) more specific, ...preferably with screenshots and/or mockups.

Huh

Impossible to do with the skinning engine. And even if it were possible I imagine it would be a nightmare to code. Apart from that I think it would get old pretty fast. It looks cool but I don't find it very practical.

Yeah,I wasn't sure if the box could even handle it.I don't find it impractical though.I watch my news through PicLens and view most of my images through there in Deviant Art.
Even though,I still think it would make a great plugin or script of some sort.

Was just a thought.Smile

Question
Yeah, how exacly would you use this (practically) if it was implemented into XBMC? Huh

...if anything maybe something similar could be added as a screensaver or visualization.

The practical part would have came in being able to use it to browse pictures and videos in the same way it does with a PC.Anything I am able to do on my xbox and view on my T.V. instead of my PC is practical to me.The interface in my opinion alone is stunning in my opinion.
But like I said it was just a Idea. The new Firefox has a lot of new plugins and this is one I just decided to try out.
Thanks for replying to my thoughts anyways.
I guess I am living up to my name.Smile

The practical part would be wowing your friends and family with eye-candy while showing them pictures. That's it. And I agree with Jeroen, it would get old fast.

It could make a cool screensaver though... would beat the standard shift-and-fade we have now.

I actually think its a great interface as well..actually iv had it before on firefox 2 and immediately thought how awesome it would be if an iphone/ipod touch app was made from the same concept...but anyways it would make a really nice way to browse your media, especially photos...it'll be abit like the "wall" view in the Aeon skin except much more eye candy and itll probably works much better as well (assuming the xbox can handle it...)
I for one reckon its a great idea maybe if this can be made as a python script(will that be even possible?)...but since its not opensource (is it?) it might be very difficult to coding something like this...but it sure would kick ass though!!

Nod I agree with lost1. I have to say I was thinking about the same thing myself. I'm not a programmer by any means, but I still think if it was possible. I would give it all the attention that I could. I happen to love both the XBMC and the cooliris add-on. Why not try to bring the best of both worlds together.
