If I start a playback during recording and then skip forward or back after the recording has stopped Kodi will freeze or crash at some point every time.

1.  Start playback while recording still in progress
2.  Playback until recording completes
3.  Skip forward, backward, pause  (not sure if order makes a difference)
4.  Kodi will crash or freeze.

This only happens under the scenario above.  Playback with skip forward/reverse/pause fine while recording is in progress.  Playback fine on an existing video file.
Workaround is to stop and restart playback after the recording has completed but before doing skips or pauses.

Not sure when this started happening.   I fairly recently changed the audio from Directshow to WASAPI which solved a stuttering issue I was having when playing back while recording.

This on Kodi 18.9 Windows 10.  Nextpvr doing the recording.

I have a dump and stacktrace files also if needed but not for the instance captured in the log file which was a freeze.
