Hope some can help here. I have the 2019 Nvidia Shield Pro connected to Denon 6700 avr HDMI and LG CX77
I had passthrough working with Dolby Atmos, DTS HD and all, but now suddenly only stereo sound. Passthrough is enabled in Kodi 18.9 system
Same problem in MrMc but Plex, Netflix and Disney Plus works fine. It did work 7-10 dages ago, but and can't get the audio to Denon AVR anymore except Stereo sound

The one file you open in kodi, mentions:

2020-12-30 17:40:28.386 T:9906  NOTICE: Creating audio stream (codec id: 86060, channels: 8, sample rate: 48000, no pass-through)
2020-12-30 17:40:28.462 T:9809  NOTICE: Trying to open: samplerate: 48000, channelMask: 12, encoding: 4

That passthrough is plain disabled. Make sure it is actually enabled (check expert settings, so that it's used for dts-hd, etc.) Other than that: nothing in there yet.

Passthrough was enabled in expert settings. I tried turning it off, play movie and enable again and play movie without success.

I uninstalled Kodi and with new install everything works again. I guess the last update destroyed more than fixed. I did have danish system language before, and now only english are optional.

i encoutered the same problem. 
My shield tv pro had also passtrough with DD+ , True HD , DTS MA , etc on my Marantz Receiver and from one day to another only everything in STEREO....

With the uninstall and re-install of Kodi this was fixed. (and disabled updates ;-) )
