Hey Folks,
I tried ripping a dvd with mencoder, with the following command line:
mencoder dvd://3 -o File.avi -oac copy -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=1200
The resolution is 720x480. However, when I play it in xbmc, it looks squished on my widescreen TV (looks maybe like 640x480?). TV's native resolution is 1368x768. When I play this file in mythtv (via mplayer), it plays fine in full screen mode as well.
I have had this problem in the past with x264, but I remember xvid working alright. I'm not 100% certain, but I may have upgraded mencoder since I last tried to use this tool.
Any ideas?
