v19 Subtitles always off
#1
Hi, I install Kodi 19 on Debiana 10 (Dietpi3). I have subtitles always off when I play movies or series. I never has that problem in Kodi. I use previous Kodi versions on Rpi. I add subtitles language and check other options in Setting. How Can I fix this?

Technically, that installation is not supported by Team Kodi. However it's possible that for some reason the default setting for subtitles has changed.

Open the subtitles OSD during a video, enable the subtitle setting, select a subtitle if necessary, and use the "Save for all media" option. (if that is what you meant by "check other options in Setting").
If that does not work for other videos, then you may have a storage problem where setting files are not saved properly. A flunky SD card perhaps?

Hi, I always check "save for all media" but it don't work. I see some movies display subs when I play them again but most don't.
In settings>player I set subs for Polish language, I set default subs downloader etc. and everything looks there OK. There's no autoplay option.
I have Kodi 19 nighty build from github on Mini PC and SSD because on Debian was version 17.6. I must upgrade to make Emby work.

I'm guessing a possible read-only or permissions issue preventing the setting from persisting.

Debug log to check?

Hi, I install Libre Elec on Rpi4 now and also have subtitles problem. There's Leia 18.9 version. Sometimes subtitles work but most they don't. Kodi see there're polish subs but It don't display them. I must everytime manually download new subtitles. When I start the same movie again I second time must download the same subtitles that I download before :/

We'll need a new debug log (wiki) for all that.
