In the Tv section of KODI v. 19.1 every time I play a tv program file the subtitles are on. I pause the episode, turn them of and resume watching....... 
How do I keep subtitles from appearing every time I start a file?

How do I keep subtitles from appearing every time I start a file?

With a PC keyboard you can press the 't' for enabling/disabling subtitles.
You can also enter the Subtitles OSD during a video, disable subtitles, and use "Save as default for all media".
