Nuak Wrote:I completely agree with you. Nobody, ever, has ever used the term "visionar" to the act of watching a movie. Everybody uses "voy a ver una película / vamos a ver una película".
I suppose that hal9000 uses "visionar" because he wants to distinguish between "ver tus peliculas" (see what movies you have) from "ver tus peliculas" (watch your movies). But there is no need to do that, as everybody understands that "Ver tus películas" implies to watch movies.
It actually hurts the image of media stream since instead of looking comfy and right at home, it feels alienating. The first impression I got was "lol, what a bad translation".
Well I'm going to provide another translation, along with a couple of minor changes, and for anyone interested please feel free to provide input. I also find issue with the word "meteorologia" which in English translates to "meteorology" which is more appropriate in a scientific context than in everyday use. I'd change that to "el clima", which, even though it's not a perfect fit, it's more consistent with everyday use.
Also the word "rating" I don't like the translation "valoracion". I'd change it to "puntaje" or "calificación".
