Solved Unable to create GUI error
#1
Hi all,

I'm experimenting with setting up Kodi on a lite version of Windows 11.

I have all the drivers installed on an Asus laptop, which I'm using for the testing but after installing Kosi 19.4 it gives me the unable to create GUI error.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this? What should I be looking at?

You will have to create the advancedsettings.xml (advanced method)
To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

short: suspect your laptop doesn't have the graphic engine needed.

Thanks Pat,

I'll do that today and upload the log.

I think your suspicions may have been close.

I updated the graphic drivers to the latest available and it started working.

My apologies for taking up time unnecessarily, but the help was appreciated.
