Solved 19.4 Matrix - lags on 2nd screen, when browser open on 1st screen
#1
Hi there,

I decided to give Kodi 19.4 a try again coming from 18.9 Leia and noticed again, that the video playback lags - like 10 FPS or so on the 2nd screen, but only if i have a browser like chrome or edge open on the first screen. I obviously have a 2 monitor setup. The requested Information:

1. 19.4 Matrix
2. Windows 10 21H2 build 19044.1682
3. AMD 3900X
4. 64 GB
5. Play any Video in Kodi on Monitor 2 Resolution 1920x1080@60Hz and use a browser on Monitor 1 in 4k@60Hz
6. GPUs: 2 x Nvidia GTX 980 SLI - driver-rev.: 30.0.15.1259
7. debug log

Addition Information for Media Playback Problems (Video, Audio):

1.2 x Nvidia GTX 980 SLI - driver-rev.: 30.0.15.1259
2. RME ADI2-pro SPDIF passthrough driver-rev.: 0.9.747.0
3. all kinds of files streams

I also noticed the content setting of my library folders was gone. No issues with Leia, which I will roll back to.
But maybe it would be interesting to know, what is going on with 19.4 and possible future builds.

Many thanks

We prefer having Kodi logs with "debugging" enabled for a more detailed listing. Not saying that will show the problem, as your machine should be more than capable.
However, SLI setups is something we've hardly come across with Kodi, and, dual monitor setups have a habit of (slightly) slowing down all video graphics in my earlier experience when looking at two monitors on my previous setups.

I doubt that that has anything to do with your dual monitor setup. Either a glitch during the database upgrade or something else, but normally content settings aren't lost that quickly.

ahh yes thank you - I wondered why the CPU usage bar was gone - it has to be activated again after restart - had a lot of library scanning going on and didn´t want it to blur the result. I might try it with SLI disabled - why not....

In the meantime here is a log with debug mode:

You Sir nailed it - with SLI disabled, it works on Matrix 19.4.

Now I know - thank you!
