Linux Kodi occasionally crashing after reseating HDMI cable
#1
I'm running Kodi off of an old laptop connected to an old TV via HDMI (the HDMI cable is actually connected to a USB-C dock connected to the laptop). It appears that after 10 minutes of turning the TV off, the laptop is no longer able to see the TV once the TV is powered back on. I've been 'fixing' this by reseating the HDMI cable which will fix the issue 90% of the time... and in the other 10% cause a crash.

I believe 2022-06-03 20:24 mark indicates me reseating for a successful HDMI pickup by the TV... with an entry at 2022-06-03 20:34 indicating the TV is 'gone'. The last 30 seconds of the log indicate a reseating where Kodi crashes (and automatically restarts).

It would be great if someone could tell me how to resolve this connectivity problem without having to reseat my HDMI cable at all.

This is running on a x86_64 laptop with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. I believe Kodi Matrix was installed via the Ubuntu App Store via the UI. It is being run by selecting "Kodi" mode from the login screen.
