Wanted: Apple TV guinea pigs
#1
Hi all,

I'm looking for a few AppleTV testors for testing XBMC for Mac under the AppleTV. Requirements are an AppleTV running the latest version (2.10) of the AppleTV software, SSH and NitoTV Take 2 0.5 installed. Must not be afraid of ssh and the command-line and know how to use scp to retrieve CrashReporter and xbmc log files. This will be a pre-beta1 testing cycle that will last a few days. OSX 10.4.x system users can also apply but I'm more interested in AppleTV users. PM me if you are interested.

I'm not fluent with Terminal and Command line, but I'm willing. I just bought a new apple tv and would love to get xbmc or plex running on it.

See http://bubba.org/wiki/index.php?title=AT...ion_Script

If these guides to create an AppleTV patchstick are confusing, then you might want to wait a week or so for an easier solution that's under construction.

If not then, when you have the AppleTV patched with ssh and NitoTV, PM me and I will give further info.

Ok thanks,

Last time I checked I couldn't create a patchstick because I'm running Leopard, but I will try again after this week (school finals)

That's only if you build the patchstick using apple OS components. This method uses atv-bootloader which is a Linux based patchstick. Works well but then I'm biased because I created atv-bootloader Wink

It's not that hard and if you run into problems, you can email me at davilla at xbmc dot org.
