Does anyone know the .xml file (or even the piece of code to comment on) to edit to remove this part during a video playback?
(video playing in the background by pressing the back button)

If you never ever want to see that then simply remove

xml:
<include>CommonNowPlaying</include>

from https://github.com/xbmc/skin.confluence/...av.xml#L42
