With LibreELEC on an rpi4, if i play some HDR content it will automatically switch the TV into HDR mode. I installed kodi on an Asus PN50 but it does not switch the TV into HDR mode. I originally tried just launching kodi from gnome and after looking through the limited results on google i read that it is because the window manager does not support HDR. i tried launching kodi from gdm and even installed LibreELEC directly onto the PN50 but it doesn't work. Is there some specific hardware requirements for this?

HDR passthrough in Linux is not officially supported in stable builds yet, with the RPi being the exception. There are test builds available in LE forum for Intel based hardware.
