hi,

does anyone know why the movie tár (2022) with cate blanchett can't be found when using themoviedb as a scraper? have also used it with tar (2022) etc, but it shows completely wrong movies. on the tmdb page there are also alternative movie titles, but from other countries and they don't work either.

TÁR (2022) worked for me. Grab a debug log while scanning it again.

additional information

i noted that even though in most cases you can search movie+year on tmdb it doesnt work with this movie - https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=TÁR%202022

it only comes up without the year attached - https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=TÁR

you can see here it usually works with year - https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=...ick%202014

im not sure you can force the scraper to search without a year but you may try omitting the year in your filename

unfortunately i don't have a display available at the moment that i can use for kodi (except for a tablet that i use to access the nas). so i can't get into the menu of kodi itself and set or "search" for something. i'm surprised that the problem only occurs with tár (2022). if i leave out the year, i'm afraid that with some update it suddenly won't work anymore and tár will disappear from the database or something. isn't there a better solution?

Use a Parsing nfo file... https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/Parsing

nfo does not work and as i said, i cannot connect a display at the moment, so the mentioned plugin cannot be used (but i have it installed, used it in the past already). but i don´t understand, why the scraper is not able to find this movie.

oh, sorry, my fault, the .nfo file DOES work. but still i would like to understand, what is so different about this movie that it cannot be found.

it now works, i used thw wrong url inside the .nfo file. it is great that this nfo-solution works. but still: why does this happen with this movie?

you have 2 requests for information in order to answer your question

Debug Log and/or the contents of the nfo file you created pasted to https://paste.kodi.tv

since its a tablet, the log file uploader method in the link above should be the easiest

i don´t have access to /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/kodi.log of ios, how would i get there? is that the log of the kodi remote app?

you need to grab the log file from the device that runs Kodi. Is it your NAS or your iOS device?

Kodi Remote app can't access the log.

i am using a qnap nas (without the ability to use a display with it at the moment) and ios kodi remote app.

then use ssh / telnet / ftp access or similar
