Left my daughter with Kodi and now Kodi is not reading the films from their source destinations
the library is now empty with zero films showing, it cant read files from harddrive either.
All the sources are still pointing to where the files are kept,

Any suggestions?

In Hindsight, locking Kodi down in Kiosk mode might have saved the day.

Considering it's windows, you're probably dealing with drive musical chairs, a scenario in which windows assigns the drive letters automatically after pushing the drive letters down the alphabet (insertion of a USB device will do it). Check the pathing of a movie in the information panel vs. the real drive/source path. Matches? If NO pull extraneous devices out, reboot check the letter again, rename letters if need be in 'window management'. If eveything looks good and you still have issues.... Suggest a Portable mode (wiki) installation, ensure it's full operation and re-scan your sources.

To avoid windows musical chair drive allocation, manually name & letter your drives from the end of the alphabet back. Z, X, Y, etc.
