Linux Change minimal volume step control
#1
Hi,

First of all thanks to anyone helping on Kodi & LibreElec projects, which I follow since almost a decade now !

(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

I tried finding in forum, wiki & with different search keywords before posting, I'm really hoping I didn't miss anything about it, english is also not my main langage, thanks for you patience all.

As explained in title, I'm looking to decrease minimal volume step, which is `10`(this settings is in audio settings), I want it to go down like `5`.

I know how to ssh & use vi to edit files.

Thanks to anyone reading this,

Locate your install folder and within that should be a system folder then a settings folder and you're looking for the file settings.xml

From Windows:

Then in there find this line https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master....xml#L2980

Change to 5 so it's

xml:
<minimum>5</minimum>

and Save then restart Kodi if open.

Would advise keeping a backup somewhere safe as it will get overwritten next time you upgrade, and perhaps also put a comment to remember what you modified, for example:
xml:

<!-- Changed the default Minimum voulume step from 10 to 5 -->
<minimum>5</minimum>

Anything between a <!-- and a --> is seen as a comment.
