Hi there,
Did you get it working for you or you ended up with not buying it? I've already ordered one; the good thing is it can be mounted internally. it'd be nice though if it can power on the computer. I'm interested in comments from people on it. Cheers!!!

Is there commands to type along the lines of the ones for the PS3 remote for the Apple Remote?

I'm using a Cyberlink MCE remote now but would love to use my apple remote instead...

Works great on my new live install Big Grin

I just got the Maplin remote too. Did you have to do anything to get it to work on Live? I was expecting it to work out of the box, but it doesn't.

My mistake, it does work out the box. Must have been a bad connection.Rolleyes

Any help on getting this to work on my live install?

http://vlsys.co.kr/English/retail_mini.php

Works fine in Windows Media Center.
The reciever lights up red until Windows is started and the driver is loaded, and then it goes black and is ready to use.

When i boot up xbmc live, it just stays red..

Not sure if this is any help but lsusb recognises the reciever as "Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT 232 USB-Serial (UART) IC" located on Bus 002 Device 004.

I have an Asus EEEBox B202 and i would much rather run xbmc live than windows media center because of the huge difference in performance.. Btw, im running it off a usb stick and running Win7 from the hard drive when i dont need media center functionality Smile

Please excuse the noobness of this question, but when it says Microsoft MCE remote works out of the box on XBMC Live, does it mean ANY MCE remote?

I am looking to buy this cheapo on ebay, and would like to know if it will work on my Revo-based XBMC Live installation?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/USB-PC-Remote-Con...286.c0.m14

Please advise! It's cheap and available and if it works, that's good enough for me! I'm sick of using the supplied keyboard/mouse that came with my Revo...!

I tried the receiver in both Vista and XP and it gets pick up so I know the receiver works. If someone could point me in the right direction to try and figure it out, I would greatly appreciate it.

I bought this one yesterday and it's working fine with Ubuntu 9.04, XBMC SVN build and ASRock 330 ION.

Installed LIRC and selected Media Center remote (New) and everything working just fine atm.

Hi, I'm a linux newbie.

Just installed XBMC on a acer revo following 'lifehackers' guide. Does any one know if a Emprex 3009URF will work.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emprex-3009URF-M...B002A8HEFY

It says MCE and 360 compatible, but I'm worried about it being RF and not IR - Will this cause any problemsConfused

Thanks
