[LIVE] Is Microsoft's MCE Remote the only remote control that works in XBMC Live?

I cant for the life of me getting this remote to work

XBMC live 9.11, it work at random, if i quick press the arrow button nothjing happens apart from the usb dongle light flashes, but if i hold the button in it kind of works Frown

any suggestions?
