audio issues with android tv box

Why it was not backported before: We are afraid to break some "random" box doing IEC - and people liked Tongue the 2 seconds off.

is there a tentative date for release of stable v21 ?

I will post soon a debug log of nightly version

Thanks much, yes the code triggers. Please do not forget to turn off your "Component logging (for Audio)" again, it is independent from debug loggin, else your disk is spammed. Have fun with kodi.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

ok thank you very much, is there an ETA for kodi 21 stable? Is it safer to stick to current nightly I have installed or
can I update regularly?

thank you in advance

with recommended passthrough output audio device I still get out of sync after large skips,
but after switching to AudioTrack (RAW), Android IEC packer as passthrough audio device everything is fine

The rest is device specific, not fixable for kodi. As you clearly see RAW is fine, using the exact same Videoplayer and everything. The firmware bug I only fixed cause all devices with this AML bsp version were affected.

Chances to get your vendor to fix it are most likely zero. They don't even know that IEC mode is available on their devices ...

...ok but is there any advantage in using IEC (recommended) over RAW (android) audio output device? Can I safely keep using RAW (android) mode (since it does not have out sync issue)?

Hi,
with kodi 21 beta 3 all out-of-sync issues seem to be fixed by enabling "superviseaudiodelay".
The only problem I had was that my google tv (mecool KM7 plus with Amlogic S905Y4 Quad-Core A35)
did not allow me to access the userdata folder (where the file advancedsettings.xml must be created).
Hence, I had to fork the the unmaintained  "unlock advancedsettings" kodi addon  (https://github.com/abratchik/script.unlo...edsettings)
and add the needed settings. You can get my modified addon from my kodi addon repository on github (https://github.com/cridemichel/repository.cridemichel)

Add the advancedsettings via kodi file manager. Copy to your profile directory.

Before beta3, this was enabled by default ... but it killed "semi-broken" machines, like Ugoos ... now those people whine with wrong sync Tongue yeah ... and you guys have to use the advancedsetting, sadly.
