Intel NUC 13 Pro Kit RNUC13ANHI70002 Arena Canyon i7 any good for Kodi?

Hi all, new on this forum. Ive used Kodi in the past and since Zappiti has gone bankrupt im looking into other options.

Im interested in a NUC and do already have a Nas. So the NUC will be functioning as HT setup as well as a ROON- core for my audio needs.

The nuc im looking for is Intel NUC 13 Pro Kit RNUC13ANHI70002 Arena Canyon with an i7 processor, 2TB samsung 980Pro M2 SSD, Samsung QVO 4TB ( for roon ) and 32 GB Crucial DDR4 SODIMM 1x32GB 3200.

Is this NUC any good or are there better options for Kodi? Is a NUC 12 as good as the NUC 13?

Any experience or input from NUC users would be great

Thx!

You don’t need an i7 Gen 13 Pro with 32GB for Kodi.

i3 NUC 8 with 4GB ram will give you 4K HDR and stream Atmos/DTS-HDMA etc with Kodi 21 Beta. If it’s a dedicated media player I recommend using LibreElec (Linux) not using Windows.

For NUCs is "crucial" have good RAM speeds as main memory is also used as video memory (NUCs not has dedicated video memory).

Then if NUC itself supports dual channel memory is much better  2 x 16GB 3200 than 1 x 32GB, etc. Even is better 2 x 8GB as is not need much RAM (for media player usage).

This can make the difference of 4K HDR / 60 Hz / RGB supported or not (video stuttering / frame drops).

As example NUC8i3BEK can handle 4K HDR @ 60 Hz BUT only if has dual channel memory....
