The wiki needs to be updated to reflect this :-

http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Thumbnails

States :-

Multi Part (Stacked) Movie Files
You can either use the filename of the first file in the stack or the name of the stack, so for:

Movies\path\moviename-CD1.avi
Movies\path\moviename-CD2.avi
Either of the below would work:

Movies\path\moviename-CD1.tbn
Movies\path\moviename.tbn

Which is clearly incorrect.

Nope, it's correct. This is exactly the way local thumbnails are handled on stacked movies.
Unfortunately local fanart images are not handled this way, so you will have to use the "stacked" moviename instead.

Please submit a new feature request, otherwise it might get lost during the current feature freeze.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.

For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.
