Is it possible to force update of Movie & TV episode info/desciption after change of language?

Meaning:
I scanned a quite big movie collection using English info/descr for a relative a while back. 
They watched many movies that are marked as watched and they manually marked lots of old movies as watched as well.

Now they asked if it's possible to change info/descr to Swedish instead. Without loosing watched status and progress for TV series.
Is there any way to accomplish this?

Change the system and scraper to the proffered language. Re-scan one at a time using the keyboard W for Marked as watched / unwatched.
The work-arounds would involve renaming all the .nfo files in a batch operation, re-scan with language flavour. (watched status is lost)
Alternately, a 3rd party media manager might offer some solution to pull in new .nfo on a source basis, but still involves a lot of scanning.

Truthfully, I would just start a new installation, clean out all .nfo files, rescan and when you have a library to your likes, running through with the keyboard W seems trivial..
