TheTVDB.com website down (thus the TheTVDB scraper do not work?)?
szsori Wrote:I'd encourage everyone donating to consider splitting their donation 3 ways between XBMC, TheTVDB, and TMDB (if you use that combination).
If you are not too busy bringing back thetvdb.com online, I think this will be a good place to post the way to donate to the cause...

Also linked from the site menu. People interested in providing a mirror will be able to sometime in the near future... we'll be getting a couple of high quality mirrors up first and then figuring out exactly what specs people will need to run additional ones.

I've noticed that the site is again up, but thetvdb.com scrapper still doesn't work.

Is it due to some parts still not being fully operational or maybe some changes in the site structure that might require some changes in the scrapper?

He's moving it to the new server in a few hours and will regenerate the API then. It would normally take 24 hours to regen, but on the new server it should take considerably less time.

Has anyone noticed that while the scraper is down no new tv episodes show up in the library? If I switch to file mode the file is there and can be played but when in library it doesn't show up - i'm guessing because the scraper can't pull the correct info. Is this normal behavior?
Reply
No it is not normal.

Yes it makes sense because that's where it's getting the info from for your library to look pretty.

Are you referring to the website or the API? My scan is still doing nothing. Of course, I could be making a mistake of some kind, but I would certainly be surprised by that.

when "Series Waiting For Update: 17517" will hit 0 - all the updates will be done and xml/zip api will work again Smile

edit: my scraper is fully working for about 40 minutes now Smile

try opening a command prompt and putting in ipconfig /flushdns and see if that helps as the have relocated to a new server and your computer may still be trying to connect to the old one
